IT'S DONE!
The digital restoration of the Graupner BELL-47G was the most extensive project at CADDICTED to date.
The first models were purchased second-hand in around 2007, with the aim of actually restoring them. The models delivered were in a desolate condition. Poorly assembled, certainly never flown and the metal parts were very badly corroded. For professional and private reasons, the parts then disappeared into a box marked 'Later'.
In 2022 ...
CADDICTED is essentially dedicated to the digital restoration of model engines and models. In addition, as a fan of rendering images and so-called blueprints, I create such blueprints for each of the projects.
I hope it will be a treat for every technically interested viewer. The photo books or photo calendars also contain smaller A3 versions of the large-format posters.
Thank you for reading, viewing and enjoying it!
CADDICTED NEXT?
For 2025, there are different options as to which model or engine should be digitally restored next. There are a lot to choose from and now the users can decide:
- Graupner Fairlady 240Z (~1980)
- Graupner Yamaha YZ250-10-GP
- robbe Peanuts-Racer (~1977)
- Schlueter HeliBaby (~1975)
- O.S. ENGINES - OS-IL-300 (~2006)
- Hirobo GPH346 (~1995)
- ENYA VT240 (~1986)
- O.S. ENGINES - OS-FF-320-PEGASUS

Based on the Graupner GO-KART-10-GP with combustion engine, the design of an electric version with a brushless drive and 2S-LiPo drive battery (EP - electric powered) is carried out here.
The upgrade parts are 3D printed using the SLS process and can be downloaded once the design is complete. A real version is built in parallel to the digital design.
The BELL-47G from Graupner is one of the first commercially produced and available RC helicopters with cyclic blade adjustment. The first versions were available from ~1975.
The model is digitally restored in several stages; important or hard-to-obtain spare parts can be produced using 3D printing. A real model is constructed in parallel with the digital design.
The OS-MAX-21VG series engines are 3.46 cm³ high-performance engines and were specially designed for remote-controlled racing cars in 1:8 scale.
This engine was one of my first machines modeled in CAD in 2010 (!) as part of the digital design of my 1:8 buggy from Carson. Now I model the open CAD features and create blueprint / rendering images.
