About CADDICTED

CADDICTED

I originally studied electrical engineering in the 80s and 90s, but even then I had a clear inclination towards all kinds of CAD applications. At the time, these were mostly reserved for companies and, especially in the mechanical field, were unaffordable for private use.

The changing times, my professional environment and, last but not least, my passion for model making made it possible for me to purchase and use the model privately in the early 2000s.

CADDICTED is essentially dedicated to the digital restoration of model engines and models. As a fan of so-called blueprints, I also create blueprints for every project. I hope that they will be a pleasure for every technically interested viewer. The photo books contain versions of the large-format posters that have been scaled down to A3.

And by the way: Are the color representations photos of the restored engines? No: They are exclusively renderings based directly on the CAD data.

Thank you for reading, viewing and enjoying it!

PASSION

I have always been fascinated by model building, or more precisely, model building with radio control technology. Even as a small boy, I stood for what felt like hours at the window of our model shop in my home town in Hohenlohe, dreaming of green meadows, blue lakes and windy slopes. I looked up into a bright blue sky and followed the trail of my sailboat.

Or I stood on a completely muddy meadow where the local motocross races were taking place and used the time after the race to chase my buggy through the muddy ruts. Or I went to the large parking lot that I had all to myself and chased my on-road racer around the racing pylons at breathtaking speed.

That was around 1975.

This passion has remained with me over the years, through all the ups and downs of life. It inspired me to keep going in the good times and not to give up in the difficult ones. No matter what.

'Passion' therefore has a very special meaning for me.

If not the meaning itself.

In recent years, I have been digitally resurrecting models from my childhood and youth, recreating the design and thought processes of the developers at the time.

And I try to combine the creative act of that time with my passion. In doing so, something new emerges.

This website is for everyone who has remained true to their passion and enjoys being inspired.
