Welcome to a tour through the results of the digital restoration of this 1.76 cc glow plug engine for RC model aircraft.
The non-throttleable version of the OS-MAX-10FSR for speed models. As far as I know, it was used mainly for speed tethered flight (hence the -S in the model name)
Single cylinder 2-stroke engine with glow plug ignition, Schnürle scavenging, rotary valve crankshaft, side exhaust, crankshaft bearing as pressed-in bronze bushing, Venturi carburetor.
One of the first digitally restored engines. The red cylinder cooling head never existed in reality, but the renderings simply look better this way.
