Welcome to a tour through the results of the digital restoration of this 1.76 cc glow plug engine for RC model aircraft.
One of my first glow plug engines in the early days of my model building around 1979. 1.76 cc for smaller motorized aircraft or in engine attachments for gliders such as Graupner Cirrus or WiK Kestrel. Also used, for example, in the Graupner / Kyosho WING-MASTER-10, a replica of a motorized ultralight aircraft, or in the first model versions with an additional clamp cooling head on the Graupner GO-KART-10-GP.
Single-cylinder 2-stroke engine with glow plug ignition, Schnürle scavenging, rotary valve crankshaft, side exhaust, crankshaft bearing as pressed-in bronze bushing, throttle carburetor with cylindrical throttle plug.
Here is one of the first digitally restored engines. The red cylinder cooling head never existed in reality, but the renderings simply look better this way. In contrast to the FSR-S, this version has a controllable carburetor with drum plug and mixture needle.
