Welcome to a tour through the results of the digital restoration of this
9.94 cc 2-disk rotary piston engine for model aircraft based on the NSU / Wankel system. A custom build by Valentine Motors USA.
The 2-cylinder or better 2-disc version of the ROTARY 49-PI is a version manufactured exclusively by Valentine Motors in the USA. All essential parts such as the rotor, carburetor, trochoid stator housing and bearings are identical to the ROTARY 49-PI version. A special center plate and a 2-part crankshaft were designed to create a 2-disk version. The center plate allows the trochoid stator housing to be screwed together force-fit at the front and rear, thus ensuring that the engine is leak-proof. Only tube pieces are mounted as silencers, which allow an application-specific design of a silencer system.
The exact release date and the number of engines available is unknown, but presumably only a few units were manufactured. Likewise, no specific performance data or speed-torque characteristics are known, so the technical data given below are estimates without any actual verification of the engine characteristics.
